We have two new 160-item self-assessment exams that you can take to gauge your readiness for the USMLE Step 1 exam (we are preparing similar SAEs for Step 2 CK that will be coming soon). Here are some answers to questions you may have.
Q: How do I access the self-assessments?
A: To access the self-assessment, click on the left-hand menu -> Qmax Questions -> Self-Assessments.
Q: How long is each self-assessment exam?
A: The USMLE-Rx self-assessment exams are made up of 4 blocks of 40 questions each, for a total of 160 questions.
Q: Can I take the self-assessment exam if I'm a trial user?
A: No, you need to be an active subscriber with access to Rx360+ or Qmax.
Q: Is there a self-assessment exam for Step 2 CK Qmax?
A: No, but they are coming soon.
Q: Can I search for the questions on the self-assessment test and review them?
A: No, the self-assessment questions are in a sequestered bank, separate from the regular Qmax item repository, and can’t be searched.
Q: Do the self-assessment questions impact my Qmax 1 dashboard or Cumulative Analysis pages?
A: Self-assessment questions are in a sequestered bank and will not impact the stats on your Qmax 1 dashboard or Cumulative Analysis page. The self-assessment has its own stats page and can be accessed when all 4 blocks in the assessment are complete.
Q: Can I review a self-assessment question if I bookmark it?
A: Bookmarked self-assessment questions are treated the same as any other bookmarked question.
Q: Can I retake the self-assessment?
A: Self-assessments can’t be retaken.
