The Express Video player works like a standard video player and includes familiar controls to help manage playback while studying.
Video Player Controls (Left to Right)
- Play and Pause a Video
The video can be paused by selecting the play/pause icon on the left side of the video toolbar. To resume playback, select the icon again.
Please note that, for security purposes, we have an activity timer set. If the system detects no activity after a set period of time, you will be logged out of the system and will need to log in again.
- Adjust Volume
Use the volume control in the video player to increase or decrease audio levels. Audio can also be muted using the same control.
- Adjust Playback Speed
Playback speed can be adjusted for each video using the speed control in the video player. Available speed options range from 0.5x to 2x, with 1x set as the normal playback speed.
- Use Keyboard Shortcuts
Keyboard shortcuts are available to help control playback more efficiently. Select the keyboard icon in the video player controls to view all available shortcuts. These include: play and pause, skip forward or backward 10 seconds, adjust volume and jump to specific points in the video.
- Enable or Disable Captions
Closed captions can be controlled directly from the video player. While a video is playing, select the CC icon in the lower-right corner. Choose English (CC) to turn captions on.
- Use Full-Screen Mode
Select the full-screen icon to expand the video to fill the screen. Select the icon again or press Esc to exit full-screen mode.
