Bricks Create allows you to create original Bricks from scratch or generate a Brick from an existing file. Once created, you can add text, media, and interactive elements to build engaging educational content.
Note: Access to Bricks Create may not be available to all users and depends on whether your organization has granted you permission.
Getting Started
Bricks Create can be accessed by going directly to https://brick-portal.scholarrx.com/, or from the Faculty Dashboard or Brick Exchange by selecting Bricks Create from the grid icon in the upper-right corner.
From the Bricks Create dashboard, select Create Brick.
When you select Create Brick, you can choose to start with one of the following options:
Blank canvas. Start with an empty authoring template.
Existing File. Upload a supported file to generate Brick content. The Brick includes headers, paragraphs, lists, images, and tables based on the file’s structure. You can review, format, and add interactive features or additional content as needed.
TAI - Teaching with AI. Use TAI to generate a structured, engaging Brick based on the information and/or files you provide. Review and edit the Brick before publishing.
Add and Edit Content in a Brick
The Bricks Create authoring template allows you to edit all sections of a Brick, including the title, learning objectives, main body of content, summary, and review questions.
-
Select and Edit Content
Select any field to begin editing and type as you would in a standard text editor. You can also copy and paste text directly into a block using standard keyboard shortcuts or the right-click paste options. -
Add Different Content Blocks
The main body of a Brick is built using content blocks. Each paragraph, heading, image, question, or interactive element exists as its own block. Use the plus (+) button on the left side of a block to add new content. You can add multimedia, assessment items, patient insight content, or generate content using AI based on the preceding content.
Format Text and Manage Blocks
When you select text within a block, a formatting toolbar appears, allowing you to adjust text size, apply bold or italic formatting, add superscript or subscript, and insert links. You can also reorder, duplicate, or remove content blocks as needed. Select the block you want to manage and choose the appropriate option from the menu on the right side of the block.
View and Update Your Bricks
Bricks are saved automatically as drafts, and remain unpublished until you choose to publish them. All Bricks you create or clone are available on the My Bricks page in Bricks Create.
You can continue to edit a Brick at any time, including after it has been published. Changes you make are saved to a draft version and are not visible to others until the Brick is published again.
