Bricks can be customized to meet your educational needs using Bricks Create. There are three ways to customize bricks:
- Annotate an existing brick from the Brick Exchange. Use annotations to add instructor notes to existing Bricks.
- Clone an existing brick from the Brick Exchange. Create an editable copy of an existing Brick using Bricks Create. The original author remains credited, and your version is published as an adaptation.
- Create new a brick. Build original content using the Bricks Create authoring template. New Bricks can be created from a blank canvas, by uploading a supported file or by using our Teaching with AI assistant to generate the content for you to edit and review.
Note: Annotations are only available on existing Bricks in the Brick Exchange. Bricks that are cloned or created from scratch cannot be annotated.
Start from an Existing Brick
Annotating and cloning a Brick follow the same initial workflow. Locate the Brick in the Brick Exchange, and select the three dots menu next to the Brick. Choose Annotate or Clone, depending on your customization needs.
Option 2: Create a Brick from Scratch
Open Bricks Create using the grid icon in the upper-right corner of the Brick Exchange, select Create Brick.
When you select Create Brick, you can choose to start from a blank canvas, an empty authoring template, upload a file to generate a cotent draft, or use Teaching with AI to assist with Brick creation.
