Flash Facts are flashcards organized by USMLE Step 1 High-Yield topics. They help reinforce key concepts through active recall.
Navigate Flash Facts with Keyboard Shortcuts
You can use keyboard shortcuts to move through Flash Facts more efficiently. To view all available shortcuts, select the Keyboard icon at the bottom left of any flashcard.
Available shortcuts include:
Next Card
Previous Card
Show Answer
Bookmark Card
Rate Confidence Level
Bookmark Flash Facts
Bookmark cards to review them again later. When you see a Flash Fact you want to save, select the Mark Card icon on the front of the flashcard
Marked cards can be grouped into a deck, allowing you to study only the Flash Facts you have bookmarked.
Deck Settings
Each Flash Facts deck includes configurable settings. Select the Deck Settings gear icon at the bottom of the card screen to access the following options:
Restart deck
Shuffle deck
Slideshow mode (the system automatically flips each card and advances through the deck without manual input)
Show timer (the timer displays the total time spent studying the deck during the current session)
Rate Confidence Level
After flipping a Flash Fact to view the answer, rate your confidence level to indicate how well the information is understood and guide future review:
Nailed It. Select this option if the fact is well understood. The card will return at a much later time.
OK. Select this option if the fact is understood but not fully mastered. The card will return after a longer interval.
Don’t Know. Select this option if the fact is unfamiliar or unclear. The card will be shown again soon for additional review.
Flash Facts can be reviewed in Study Stream, where confidence ratings and spaced repetition help prioritize cards that need the most review.
