Qmax Simulations are designed to help you practice the pacing and endurance required to take the USMLE by completing multiple timed blocks in a single sitting.
Simulation Format
You can choose between a full-test simulation (seven timed blocks over approximately seven hours) or a half-test simulation (four timed blocks over approximately four hours).
Simulation tests are created using unused questions that you have not seen before. This helps ensure the experience reflects a true, randomized exam rather than repeated practice material. To ensure enough unused questions are available, it is recommended to create simulations before beginning regular study in Qmax. Once created, simulations can be suspended and completed later, after you have used the remaining questions for study.
When to Run a Simulation
The timing of a simulation depends on your study goals. You may choose to run a simulation:
Early in your preparation to establish a baseline
Later to evaluate how well you have learned the material
At any point where you want to practice a full exam-day experience
Creating a Simulation
From the USMLE-Rx dashboard, select the Qmax question icon in the sidebar, then choose Create Simulation to get started.
