Qmax Self-Assessment Exams (SAEs) are full-length, scored exams designed to help gauge readiness for the USMLE. USMLE-Rx offers two 160-item self-assessment exams for USMLE Step 1 and one self-assessment exam for USMLE Step 2 CK.
Please note each self-assessment exam can be taken only once and cannot be retaken.
Self-Assessment Exam Format
Self-assessment exams use questions from a sequestered question bank, separate from regular Qmax practice. Because these questions do not appear in standard Qmax tests and do not affect Qmax dashboards or Cumulative Analysis pages, self-assessments are ideal for obtaining an unbiased snapshot of performance.
Each self-assessment follows a full-length exam format of four blocks of 40 questions, closely mirroring the structure of the USMLE.
Reviewing and Bookmarking Questions
Each self-assessment has its own dedicated stats page, which becomes available after all four blocks are completed.
Bookmarked self-assessment questions behave the same as other bookmarked questions and can be reviewed later.
