Assignments and question pools are now managed through an upgraded experience integrated in the Faculty Portal. The legacy Qmax Management tool will be discontinued on June 30, 2026.
In Qmax Management, faculty can assign questions as low-stakes quizzes to help students regularly assess their understanding. These assignments can be tailored to specific topics or skills and provide feedback that helps students identify areas for improvement.
Access Test Management
From the Faculty Dashboard,
Select the grid icon, then choose Qmax Faculty to open the legacy tool.
On the Qmax Management page, select the three-line menu in the upper-left corner.
Choose Test Management.
Create a Test
To create a test, select the Create icon (green circle with a plus sign). A pop-up window appears prompting you to enter a test name, description field and select a test type.
Available test types include:
Timed - Students have a fixed amount of time to complete the test. The score is calculated based on the last answer selected.
Untimed - The test does not have a time limit, but students must submit it by the due date and time, if set. The score is calculated based on the last answer selected.
Tutor - Students can view answer explanations during the test. There is no time limit, but the test must be submitted by the due date and time, if set. The score is calculated based on the first answer selected
Select Create to save the test, which then appears on the Test Management page
Add Questions to Your Test
When you select a test, several tabs are available to manage it.
Selecting Add Questions tab opens the Question Explorer interface, where you can enter a search term to view relvant questions. When you select a question from the search results, it is automatically added to the test. Select the checkmark again to remove the question.
You can also select Search by pool instead below the search bar to find and add questions from existing question pools.
Manage Questions
From the Manage Questions tab, you can review all questions on the test, reorder questions using drag and drop, and add or remove questions. If a question requires revision, you can provide feedback to ScholarRx by selecting the thumbs up or thumbs down icon.
Important Note
Creating a test does not automatically make it available to students. Assigning the test to students and publishing it are covered in a separate article.
